How We Ship
Our gifts are trucked under controlled temperatures to a major city near their destination where they are released to delivery services for final delivery. We use only the most effective delivery services available to guarantee that your order arrives on time. We recommend shipping to a street address, not a P.O. Box. Our custom containers make sure your gift baskets, gift towers and plant gifts arrive just as fresh, perfect and delicious as you see them online. If you've ever received gift baskets from other gift companies, you'll appreciate the difference right away.
Delivery Guarantee
While we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of all information, we reserve the right to make corrections if an error does occur. Please check all addresses carefully. Postal and delivery services will not forward. We guarantee delivery only to the addresses we are given
Perishable Gifts
Some perishable gifts incur an additional charge to guarantee perfect arrival. This might include specially insulated shippers and ice-gel packs for chocolates or cheesecakes to keep them cool and delicious, and Express Shipping for cut flower bouquets so they arrive fresh and beautiful.
International Shipping
International shipping is limited to Canada. Gifts to Canada will incur an additional surcharge of $17.99 per item, plus standard delivery charges
P.O. Box Deliveries
Shipping to a P.O. Box will incur a surcharge of $5.99.
Delivery of Wine
You must be 21 years of age or older to order, purchase or receive delivery of products containing wine. By ordering any wine product, you swear or affirm that: a) you are 21 years of age or older; b) your purchase of wine products is intended for personal consumption and not for resale; and c) the person receiving wine products is 21 years of age or older, and will provide proof of age with valid identification and signature upon delivery.
Wine gifts cannot be shipped to PO boxes, APO/FPO or international addresses. To help expedite the delivery of your gift, the recipient’s phone number is needed to allow the carrier to notify the recipient prior to delivery. Shipping Wine in the United States | Harry & David
Additional Shipping Information
Standard shipping charges are based on the regular price of merchandise shipped to a named recipient at a single address.
To ensure your gift arrives in perfect condition, we recommend shipping to a street address, not a P.O. Box. Wine shipments cannot be delivered to a P.O. Box.
Incorrect addresses may delay shipment. Your order may be subject to additional charges for address correction or forwarding by postal or shipping services.
We reserve the right to correct error(s) in printed or electronic publications.
If rising costs affect shipping charges, a surcharge may be included and will be reflected in your order total.

Sales Tax
We must collect state and local taxes for shipments to states in which we have established a physical or economic presence. The taxability of wine, food, candy, or combination items varies by state. Delivery & processing will be taxed when the product is taxable. We automatically calculate taxes for telephone and Internet orders.
Tax is only an estimate. Applicable taxes will be applied when your payment is processed.
All exempt customers need to provide us with proper documentation. For example: a copy of your state's resale certificates, exemption certificates, or other acceptable proof of your exempt status for the state to which the product is shipped. What if we get an incorrect or incomplete address?
If we ship a gift basket to an incorrect address then it will be returned to us. Unfortunately, UPS/FedEx charges us a flat $15 fee to return the package, which we must in turn charge you. Once a package with an incorrect or incomplete address has left the building there is little we can do. On occasion we can reroute a package to the proper address for a fee of $15 but this is not always successful. Either way the package will be returned to us and must be sent back out for delivery. UPS/FedEx does not always call us to tell us that there is a problem delivering the package and we often do not find out there is a problem until the package is returned. In these rare instances, we ask for your patience and promise in return to do everything in our power to make sure your gift basket arrives in perfect condition and as soon as humanly possible.
Are your delivery times guaranteed?
Yes!* Shipments are guaranteed for Ground, 3 Day, 2 Day, Overnight and Saturday. If our delivery partner misses the delivery then we will refund the shipping on your gift. Please know that if the recipient is not home and was unable to deliver the package, this does not qualify as missing the delivery. Also, circumstances beyond our control, such as severe weather, natural disasters and so forth void the delivery guarantee. We run over 99% on time so trouble with shipping is a very infrequent event. *Please note, during the months of November & December delivery times cannot be guaranteed due to the increase in carrier volume.
What if the gift is going to a hospital?
If a gift is being shipped to a hospital for a patient, it is delivered to a receiving area. From there, the hospital staff brings the package to a patient’s room. This process could delay the package from being delivered to a recipient for several hours and, depending on the time of day that it is initially delivered, the package might not get to the recipient until the next day. This process is to ensure the safety and privacy of the patients in the hospital. Please note: If you select your gift to be delivered on the weekend, its delivery can be delayed by this process.
What if the gift is going to a college?
If a gift is being shipped to a college, the package is most often delivered to the Campus Mail Room. This occurs even when an exact address, complete with door number, is on a package. This is a security measure most colleges put in place to ensure the safety of their students. Please note: If you select your gift to be delivered on the weekend, its delivery can be delayed by this process.
What if the gift is going to a business?
If a gift is being shipped to a business, UPS and FedEx will deliver the package to the designated area where they deliver all other packages to the company. This may be a receiving area, a welcome desk, or an administrative desk. Many companies do not allow the delivery drivers to enter an office in pursuit of a recipient, so once the package has been signed for, it is the companies’ responsibility to make sure the gift reaches the correct person.

Do recipients have to be present to receive their packages?
For Wine Gift Baskets and all other gifts that contain alcohol, yes, and a 21+ signature is required! This policy is non-negotiable; please do not ask for us to even bend this rule. For everything else, it is up to the discretion of the individual UPS/FedEx delivery driver. If the package can be safely left then they are instructed to do so, that way the recipient will receive their gift on the day it was intended. If they cannot leave the package in a secure location (door man building) the driver will have to come back later, and very often it is on the next day.
How do you pack your gift baskets?
We use state-of-the-art instant foam packaging. Your gift will NEVER arrive with annoying popcorn and will be out of the box in seconds. The foam is perfectly formed to the contents of your gift and will require zero cleanup or hassle. Look for our competitors to use popcorn, paper, bubble wrap and other inferior packaging materials that while they protect the gift in transit, severely hinder the presentation and diminish the enjoyment of receiving the gift.
Summer Shipping
During the summer months it becomes necessary to ship chocolate gift baskets with ice packs to ensure they arrive in nothing less than pristine condition. They must also be shipped via UPS/FedEx express services and cannot be shipped over the weekend. We do this to make sure that your gift basket is perfect when it arrives.
Substitution Policy
For a variety of reasons, we will occasionally run out of a specific item. While this does not occur often, we reserve the right to substitute the unavailable item for a different one of equal or greater value.
